So, as many of you may have figured out…can’t imagine how
…Chad and I are planning a wedding. Wedding planning can be ridiculously stressful. I, however, am focused on making our wedding anything but the normal, every day wedding. That includes the stress. My plan…better yet, my goal…is to have all the major and piddley little things finished for the wedding the week before. I have such great family and friends involved in the wedding that will do an amazing job helping keep my stress levels down.
Now…I know many of you who have planned a wedding are saying , “Yah right! Good luck with that!” When I put my mind to something, it gets done. The week of my wedding will focus on my excitement and anxiousness of getting married to Chad. I will spend my time relaxing with family and friends completing the final stages of my planning–decorating, rehearsing, getting my fingers and toes done for the wedding day, etc. I have already taken steps toward making my goal a reality by planning and taking care of so many of both big and little details.
I’ve ordered favors, bought decorations, ordered a cake, reserved the location (that was easy–it’s at my parent’s home), picked a caterer, booked the florist and photographer, ordered my dress, picked out bridesmaid dresses, bought the cake topper, bought my shoes and jewelry, etc. Amazingly–I still have 206 days to go until the big day. Some have questioned why I’m doing so much so quickly…my answer is this:
I’ve been waiting 28 years to get married…
I will NOT be stressed at the end because I have too much to do…
Plain and simple…I’m just so excited and was actually planning quite a bit before he even proposed
I believe that stress comes from perspective and during wedding planning a bride’s perspective can be a little out of whack. If I take care of the big things now and some of the little things, I can more easily see the bigger picture and keep everything in perspective. I do have to say, though, that having a low-stress job aids in my ability to cut back the wedding stress.
Having wonderful in-laws and a great family helps cut out quite a bit of wedding stress too!
Now…since I don’t know everything about everything (even though it seems like I do)…anyone who has any advice for my while I’m planning and for when I get closer to the wedding day, I would greatly appreciate it!
Wish me luck!!!
