To the old biking man who passed me yesterday,
Hi, I would like to join you in congratulating yourself on passing me and my gf yesterday. I am sure it made you feel real good about yourself. The fact that we are young cyclists in our late 20’s and going as fast as we wanted to on a beautiful day, should not stop you in obtaining your goal of getting a good workout in and prolonging your happy life.
On a side note, I do want to thank you for passing me yesterday. It got me thinking, thinking that this guy has got to have at least 30 years on me. Oh, my gosh, I thought…what can happen in thirty years. I still have my whole life ahead of me, there are hundreds of miles I can still bike in my life. Some rides just started popping in my head. By this time, you were way up there. I thought, I couldn’t let him just get away. So, I dug in and sped to get up to you.
I snapped a picture of you and that’s when I noticed you were wearing a RAGBRAI jersey. That got me real pumped up, cause I was thinking about doing the RAGBRAI(ride across Iowa) next year, and now there is no excuse good enough not to go ride 470 miles.
After that ride, I will do another, and another…until I am that old biking man that still has it.
This, I can tell is the beginning of a long happy journey. So Thank You Mr biking man.

My students…although sometimes frustrating…have taken a moment to present me with a well deserved award. I have worked very hard for the past 27-28 years to reach such high achievements in life.
The seniors are given the opportunity to vote on teacher superlatives…best dressed teacher, nicest teacher, most down to earth teacher…you know, all those things we teachers aspire to become in life. Lol!
Anyway…I am now the proud recipient of THE MOST SARCASTIC TEACHER superlative!
As a result of that…I’d like to say thank you to my parents for giving me my personality…a special thanks to my brothers for giving me a reason to be sarcastic growing up so I could further develop my talents…thank you to my sisters-in-law for putting up with sarcasm and giving it back when it’s deserved…and to CJ for definitely putting up with my sarcasm even if it’s deserved sometimes, but being able to dish it out and keep me on my toes.
Aunt Susie I’d also like to thank you b/c I’m pretty sure it was from the Morice gene pool in which my sarcastic roots originated.

Ok, I think about this time to time, and I wonder how many other cyclist/adventourist think the same. Here it goes:
“I WOULD LIKE TO BIKE ACROSS THE COUNTRY SOMEDAY”
I think it would be a fun thing to do and a great accomplishment. Not sure totally how I would feel once I’ve been on the road. But, it would be definetly something to work towards. With our rides this year, and maybe doing the Ragbrai(Ride across Iowa) next year, I think I would be along the way of knowing if I would like to pull something like this off…again that’s “SOMEDAY”.
So what do you think? Am I crazy/stupid for thinking this or what?

Laughing at Cubs Fans

Especially this one that got pinched at a Cards/Cubs game in St. Louis. lol.
We went to the game last week. Not only were they free tickets, but they were Card/Cubs, Friday night, 4 rows back from the field. Jackpot!!!
