Proud Moments
05.06
My students…although sometimes frustrating…have taken a moment to present me with a well deserved award. I have worked very hard for the past 27-28 years to reach such high achievements in life.
The seniors are given the opportunity to vote on teacher superlatives…best dressed teacher, nicest teacher, most down to earth teacher…you know, all those things we teachers aspire to become in life. Lol!
Anyway…I am now the proud recipient of THE MOST SARCASTIC TEACHER superlative!
As a result of that…I’d like to say thank you to my parents for giving me my personality…a special thanks to my brothers for giving me a reason to be sarcastic growing up so I could further develop my talents…thank you to my sisters-in-law for putting up with sarcasm and giving it back when it’s deserved…and to CJ for definitely putting up with my sarcasm even if it’s deserved sometimes, but being able to dish it out and keep me on my toes.
Aunt Susie I’d also like to thank you b/c I’m pretty sure it was from the Morice gene pool in which my sarcastic roots originated.
Lots of Updates from St. Chuck

Let’s see…I am definitely finding tons of success with not just weight loss but also inches…I’m down about 7lbs from 4weeks ago and about 2″ in my hips and 1 1/2″ in my waist! It’s so exciting! So…3 more lbs and i’ve reached my goal!
I am finally OUT OF HAZELWOOD!!!! No more ridiculous problems in the classroom and all the other issues I have with the district. On a more positive note…I’ve completed 2 interviews for one English position at Marquette High School in the Rockwood District. That is very exciting news and now I must wait for the final decision. I think I’ve got the position, but I’m definitely not 100% sure. Either way…God always has a plan.
And I think we have decided to knock out Yellowstone National Park from our summer’s road/camping trip. We are thinking of going through southern South Dakota to see Mt. Rushmore…if anyone has any suggestions of other places near there to visit, we’d love to hear about them. We are still planning to see the Rockies, Great Sand Dunes, and Denver…we are definitely up for suggestions of where else to go in Colorado. We are getting more and more excited for this trip.
Finally…the weather has actually cooperated enough recently to get out on our bikes again…I’ve only gone a couple times, but CJ has spent at least 3 or 4 days on his bike now and has even gotten in some tennis!
I’d say that’s about it for now! Leave us a message, comment, or suggestion if you read our site! We’d love to hear from other people!
Teaching

I (Jackie) am a high school English teacher and am, as always, counting down the days until Christmas Break comes along. I’m down to 3 days left. I am having a much better year this year than last. CJ, I’m sure, will “concur”. I am finishing my Master’s Degree in School Counseling and am hoping to get a new job as a guidance counselor in a new district.
I’m looking forward to how such a drastic change of pace like this will completely turn my world around in education. I love to teach, but certain school districts can quickly burn any teacher out and send them running from the classroom as fast as possible.
I am definitely looking forward to where school counseling will take me. I’ve grown quite a bit over the past year and have learned to become more laid back– I thank CJ for that! He’s strongly influenced my way of thinking and how I feel about my job.
